The café is quite nice, library downstairs and a small art gallery to the side. The food is good and reasonably priced, with lots of seating, however it can get busy at times.

An excellent and modern library. It has a good selection of fiction, non-fiction and children's books. Computers with Microsoft Office and web browsing facilities, and a reasonably priced printing service. There are desks and chairs and the area is well lit, making for a pleasant reading space. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and happy to request books that are unavailable in the library for collection.

Current library is small and claustrophodic. Staff aren't trained in how to use equipment, particularly photocopier, and not very helpful. I can't really see why it's been put in basement unless it's to deter potential users.

Lovely library, staff are so friendly and helpful. The library being in the "basement of the town hall makes it that little bit exciting for the children. Always activities for children too.

Sadly the main shopping street has a lot of shops closed which is a shame because I like Bishop Auckland. The parking sites are good and the Town Hall has a good cafe with very reasonable prices.

In a basement accessed by lift and stairs. Extremely small. I think there's no real desire to have a library and the council are simply discouraging use so they can withdraw the service
