Everlast Gyms

My experience with the gym and its staff has been very negative since I rejoined in September 2025. I hesitate to call it a "club" now; it feels more like just a gym. The sauna has been closed for at least two-three months altogether, and both the steam room and jacuzzi are permanently shut down. Many of the showers are defective, and with occasional hot water issues in the men's changing room. Cleanliness has become a significant concern. The tiles are broken and slippery, and the overall appearance is very outdated. The ventilation and air conditioning units are in dust and looks never been maintained or cleaned. Moreover, paper towels and the swimsuit dryer have been permanently removed. The interior is really worn. The gym equipment is quite basic, with only one Olympic squat rack in the gym. Everlast announced a "full refurbishment" with just a two-week notice and did not provide any alternatives for training during this time. A five-week refurbishment plan does not seem promising. I also had a negative experience with the staff regarding contract negotiations, so think and read the contract twice before you join. Parking is another huge-huge issue; it's difficult to describe because the only way to get to your car in the rain is by boat, and there are countless potholes in the ground. Post-refurb and this is one of the best gyms I've ever stepped foot in. I've been aember here for 10+ years and a fitness obsessive for 20+ years. Hands down the best apparatus and layout of any gym I've been to having tried dozens of gyms in UK and abroad. Don't listen to the reviews from Karens having a moan about one changing room issue they had on one day.

The club is great as a family club, kids can swim and use some gym equipment. Price's are reasonable. Staff are very welcoming. Some of the weight training equipment could be upgraded and some things added. But overall I think it's a great health club.
