Fitness First Hammersmith

If you’re considering joining this gym, please reconsider. I have been a member for a little over a year now, and I can say all the other recent 1 star reviews are completely true. I believe I have been patient and have waited to see if it would get better, but it never does. There is ALWAYS something broken at this gym. There are machines that have been broken for months, pins to pick the chosen weight on machines missing. I have experienced a single pin being passed around so people can use different machines, which results in several queues of people waiting for that singular pin to use different machines, which is ridiculous. I brought this to the attention of the staff, they just shrugged their shoulders and said they didn’t know what happened to the other pins. Showers constantly closed off with tape, “out of order”. The shower by the sauna has been broken or out of use for months, and it makes it really inconvenient if you want to get a rinse mid sauna and then go back, or switch to the steam room, because then you have to walk into the changing room, to the other side, and make your way back to the sauna through the changing room dripping wet. Bathrooms sometimes missing soap, and toilets full of piled up toilet roll on the sides and on the floor, the roll of toilet paper off the wall dispenser, sitting on top of the bin or even on the floor which is really unhygienic. At the price of the membership, all of these constant inconveniences piled up, it is really not worth it. Also, it is always such a drama to get a towel. My boyfriend is not a member of just Fitness First, he has a pass to several gyms, which is also valid for Fitness First. But because he has a gym pass, rather than a membership solely at FF, he is always refused a towel unless he pays for it. Which is ridiculous, if someone has a valid pass which allows them to use all the facilities of the gym, they should also be allowed a towel. Also, a lot of people take a towel and end up not even using it, I always see loads piled up in the changing room and getting put in the dirty towel basket anyway. So it seems really silly to be refusing a towel to someone who actually needs it to be able to use the gym to its full extent. I have given all this feedback to the staff in person before, several times across the year which I have been a member, but nothing seems to change.

I’ve been going to gyms for over 30 years and have worked with many instructors. Nicolas is without a doubt one of the best instructor! His classes are the best( Body Attack, BodyCombat and Body Pump)! Extremely knowledgeable, professional, and truly dedicated to helping his clients achieve real results. Training with him is always positive, focused, and highly effective. I highly recommend Nicolas to anyone who wants a knowledgeable, dedicated, and truly professional trainer. Natalia

I visited the gym on Tuesday, 27 January, and was welcomed by Yasmine with a warm, genuine smile. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and immediately made me feel at ease. I had an issue with my app, but she resolved it quickly and even helped me book my appointment manually. The gym itself was clean, tidy, and pleasantly busy. The next day, I had an ABLE (personal fitness experience) session with Yasmine, and it was outstanding. She was patient, highly knowledgeable, and explained everything in a way that helped me understand my body better. After working through strength and flexibility exercises, my BioAge dropped by 10 years—an amazing result that left me thrilled. Yasmine’s name means “fragrant flower” or “gift from God,” and she truly lives up to that meaning. She has a natural gift for communication, making me feel comfortable, supported, and motivated throughout my fitness journey. Thank you, Yasmine, for an exceptional training experience. You are a true asset to Fitness First.

Staff and facilities are amazing Fitness First Hammersmith! Special shout of to Dom, she was super helpful on showing me around the gym, had a great smile and had amazing energy! Also Connor who showed me some helpful exercises on the new equipment! .. would high recommend.

Nicolas is fabulous: knowledgeable, professional and high energy, he watches your form carefully and his simple cues and prompts are super effective. His music choices are spot on and he always brings fun, positive energy and a big smile. He gets the best out of us in every class ! 👏🏼

My favourite gym in Hammersmith! The club is so clean and there is a large range of equipment to choose from. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Special shout out to Aynsley for giving me an informative tour of the club and showing me how to use Able. Able has blown me away and I know this is going to push me to a new level of strength training. Looking forward to my next visit!
