I LOVED this gym. I was in town for a month for work, and found this lovely gem of a crossfit gym. Funk Training Club has got to be one of the best, cleanest, most functional gym I've come across. The equipment are all in great condition and the coaches are all wonderful, fit and super knowledgeable in their craft. And, the gym offers a wide variety of classes to your desire: Crossfit, Hyrox, Strength, Yoga, Conditioning and even Team Training or Super Saturdays with an opportunity for group events. I truly enjoyed the camaraderie and the team vibe from other gym members too, besides the coaches. Everyone was so lovely! I just wished I was there longer to get to use the gym more. I'll be back! ps: Shout out to the Coaches - Naomi, Magic Mike, Danny and Gavin for being so kind and patient to this American who was truly tired from work - tend to be slower in class and have so many joint issues/injuries :P

Joining a new gym or box can be terrifying for some people, especially seeing so many fit people. The beauty of Funk is that there are people from all abilities and everyone is welcomed the same, whether you are at the start of your journey or an experienced campaigner. There is a real community of people and an amazing group to be part of. Very different from a normal gym where everyone is working independently, this place brings everyone together, for me, it is a much better environment to workout in. Everyone encourages and pushes you to be the best you can be. Highly recommend.

I first walked into Funk in 2022 with no CrossFit experience - and I've been hooked ever since! The coaches are amazing, the community is super welcoming, and the facilities are great. It’s more than just a gym - it’s good vibes, great people, and serious fun while getting fitter. Couldn’t ask for a better place to train!

Been a member of this box since it opened at the start of 2022, as a beginner to CrossFit had been positively life changing for me! A warm and welcoming community, with the owners being very approachable and open to feedback, a breath of fresh air to the fitness offering in the area. The box has now extended its offering to strength and conditioning, as well as HYROX class. Its olympic weightlifting classes is also quite technical and taught by experience coaches. Gained some friends from here over the years too! Classes runs from 6am to 7pm, there’s a timing that suits everybody.

Hands down the best gym I’ve ever used. The facilities are amazing, class sizes are not too big but big enough to create a great vibe and the trainers are all brilliant. The community that Danny, Steve and Mark have created is also pretty unique- all of this makes coming to the gym something to genuinely really look forward to. Keep up the great work guys!

I joined Funk at the start of the year, and it’s hands-down the best decision I’ve made for both my mental and physical health. When I first walked through the doors, I was four months into chemotherapy and looking for a space where I could stay active with scaled workouts, but more importantly, feel supported and uplifted. I found all of that—and more—at Funk. The coaches and members have been nothing short of incredible. Everyone is so welcoming, and the sense of community has truly kept my spirits high. The coaches have gone above and beyond to tailor workouts to how I'm feeling each day, which has made all the difference. Funk isn’t just a gym for me—it’s a place where I’ve regained my confidence, had a ton of fun, and felt genuinely cared for. I’m so grateful to be part of this community and can’t wait to keep growing with it for years to come!

As background, over the last 5 years or so, I’ve been a member of a couple of bigger gyms (Third Space, Virgin Active) as well as some smaller ones. Sure, at Funk CrossFit you won’t find five steam rooms or hypoxic/reduced-oxygen chambers for training to climb Everest, but I guarantee Mike and the team will make you sweat more than you would in a one-hour sauna session, and you’ll get stronger without any of that stuff. Seriously, Funk is one of the best gyms I’ve ever joined. As a complete CrossFit novice, I’ve never felt more welcomed or received more one-to-one attention than I have here. The coaches, especially Mike, ensure you’re performing exercises safely & correctly, teach you solid fundamentals, and even adapt workouts to suit your individual needs/abilities. The team at Funk has already set the bar high; I really hope they keep it that way!

I first joined Funk two and a half years ago, and I haven’t looked back since. It’s my happy place—both physically and mentally. I love the sense of community and the banter, how the coaches take the time to get to know you, and how they help build your confidence and fitness every step of the way.
